  2. Prepare 1/2 kg minced meat
  3. Take 1 large carrot(grated)
  4. Take 1 onion

  7. Prepare 1 tsp tumeric powder

  9. Prepare 1 egg wash (optional)

Mix in green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and onion. Break banana bunches into single bananas. Add to a stockpot and cover with water. Bananas will lose their color and split open.

  1. Prepare your ingredients….. In a sufuria boil your minced meat with little water while and stir…..when all the water has evaporated from the meat, add enough cooking oil, onion and stir….leave it for about 3mins to cook….
  2. Now add your grated carrots, tomatoes, paprika, salt and tumeric powder….stir let them cook for about 10mins or until the tomatoes have become juicy….!!
  3. Peel and wash your bananas, cut them into two pieces….put them in a pot with water and little oil and salt….boil them until soft….then mash them using a mwiko….
  4. Cover your pie baking tin with a foil, spread your cooked minced on the foil…..then on top spread your mashed bananas you can egg wash or leave it like that…..bake @180degrees for 30mins
  5. Once ready remove from the oven let it rest for about 10mins then serve…..enjoy!

Remove bananas from water and set aside to cool. (Tip: use gloves when working with green bananas, as the sap is very sticky!) Once cooled, peel bananas and chop into ½. Matoke are peeled using a knife, wrapped in the plant's leaves (or plastic bags), and set in a cooking pot (Swahili: sufuria) atop the banana stalks.
